This hand held Portable Edge Milling & Chamfer Tool from PERLES of Switzerland, is a specialised, robust hand held power tool, designed specifically to mill angled chamfers on both straight, curved and contoured edges on a variety of materials and profiles including bar, angle, tube, pipe, channel etc. The patented milling head has two cutters, both indexible, allowing over 400 metres of cutting per edge, in mild steel. It is designed to allow ‘high speed’, single pass operations in most materials whilst remaining surprisingly, easy and comfortable to use, with little vibration and good feedback to the operator.
2 replaceable indexible carbide ‘milling’ inserts provide longevity of the cutting edge and a variety of materials including:
o Tool steel
o Stainless steel
o Mild Steel
o Aluminium
o Non-ferrous metals
o Plastics o Wood etc – chamfering depth is easily adjusted via a knurled dial, allowing cuts from 0.1 mm to 5 mm, with a set angle of 45 degrees.
– suited to pre-welding material preparation, providing a uniform angle and depth of chamfer, greatly assisting the uniformity and strength required in making a strong, optimum joint.
– ideal for removing burrs and sharp edges from a variety of materials both in the workshop and on-site.
– variable speed provides control when used on a variety of materials. Aluminium can be cleanly chamfered when a lower speed setting is selected.
The milling cutter is guided via a rotational replaceable guide bush, fitted with durable bearings to facilitate smooth operating and long life. The guide bush needs to follow the contoured edge of the chamfer piece, but will nevertheless operate on even quite thin materials.
